MY STORY

Tech & Business

Just a quick summary of the things I've worked on...

Hey there!

I'm thrilled you're here on my site—let's chat a bit about my journey, because I believe sharing stories is the best way to connect and build real trust.

My name is Hooman Mardox, and I've spent my life chasing ways to make the world a little more efficient, one line of code and one smart hack at a time.

Pull up a chair; this is the long version of how I got here.

From the age of five, I was hooked on technology.

I started tinkering with code on a Commodore 64, back when computers felt like magic portals.

That passion paid off big time when I was 11: I entered a programming competition and snagged first place across the entire province.

It was my first taste of what happens when you mix creativity with persistence, and it lit a fire that hasn't gone out since.

Education-wise, I was lucky to attend a national organisation for exceptional talents, which nurtured my geeky side.

After high school, I headed to university, diving into software engineering and computer science. I graduated with distinction, but honestly, the real fun was being the IT officer.

I had admin privileges and pulled off some harmless pranks on my college mates. It taught me a ton about systems, security, and how tech can bring a smile (or a groan) to people's days.

Post-bachelor's, I scored a PhD scholarship, but I was already hustling side projects to make money.

My advisor gave me golden advice: "If you're good at making money, you can hire a PhD anytime. Get really good at that." It hit home, so I skipped the academia route and jumped into business full-throttle.

My career?

It's been a wild ride of trial, error, and triumphs in the software world. Right now, I focus on building and investing in apps and software projects, while mentoring engineers to go independent and thrive.

After uni, I did a few job interviews, but I quickly realized traditional 9-to-5s weren't for me—I couldn't hold one down without feeling caged.

So, I experimented with every business model under the sun. Nothing clicked at first; it was frustrating, like throwing spaghetti at the wall.

Then, in a moment of desperation, I decided to build an app to boost my own confidence. It felt like my last shot.

After countless iterations and failures, I finally published it. Launch day? I made a whopping $0.67.

I still have that $0.67 framed in my office to this day. 🙂

Ouch. But I didn't quit.

I dove deep into how markets work, studying user behavior and tweaking relentlessly.

Within less than six months, that app hit $25,000 in monthly recurring revenue and a $2 million valuation.

It was proof that persistence plus smart strategy pays off.

From there, things snowballed. I expanded into a portfolio of apps tailored for different countries and markets worldwide, serving over 5 million users every week.

The secret sauce?

Blending my coding skills with marketing and human psychology.

Most engineers nail the tech but miss the "why people care" part—I made it my mission to bridge that gap.

After my own successes, I started helping other engineers make the leap to independence.

I've mentored hundreds around the globe, sharing what I've learned about turning ideas into impactful, profitable projects.

Along the way, I've invested in businesses, gotten involved in diverse software ventures, written books on software and apps, given talks, and generated serious revenue for the projects I've touched.

It's all about creating value that sticks.

Of course, expertise doesn't come overnight. I'm a pro at decoding user psychology—spotting pain points, understanding desires, and crafting software that bridges the gap to real solutions.

I've honed this through years of testing, studying human behavior, reverse-engineering top products like the big hits in tech, and leaning on mentors who've been there.

It's not just about building software; it's about profitable user acquisition and conversion that feels natural and helpful.

And yeah, I've faced my share of hurdles, like everyone in business. Markets shift, tech evolves overnight, and serving global users means constant adaptation.

How do I handle it?

First-principles thinking: break problems down to basics, attack bottlenecks head-on, and focus on constraints. It's the most reliable way I've found to build, deploy, and scale products that last.

Outside of work, life's about balance and adventure for me. I'm single, no kids (yet?), and I live super minimalistically—my whole world fits in a suitcase, which keeps things light and free.

I've traveled to over 30 countries, picking up four languages along the way, and my hobbies revolve around exploring: diving into the latest tech gadgets, geeking out on business strategies, unraveling human psychology, and even dabbling in art.

I love productivity hacks and techniques—anything to squeeze more efficiency out of the day. (I share some on my YouTube here) Whether it's optimizing my workflow or finding shortcuts in daily life, I'm always tweaking for max impact.

At my core, my values drive everything. I believe in delivering top-tier value to users, customers, and clients—money's just the happy byproduct.

I choose the right way, even if it's the hard way, because satisfaction comes from knowing you've built something meaningful.

My big why?

Attacking inefficiencies in life.

The world's full of them, and I want to optimize it all, creating positive, lasting change through my projects.

I hope when you visit my site, you see me as that guy who goes the extra mile—reliable, innovative, and genuinely invested in helping you succeed.

Looking ahead, I'm all about keeping it simple: a minimalistic lifestyle that lets me focus on impact. No empire-building for its own sake—just reducing inefficiencies and driving recurring positive change through the work I do.

If my story resonates, let's connect—I'd love to hear yours and see how we can team up to make things better.

Thanks for reading; here's to efficiency, growth, and a bit of fun along the way!
